We were very keen to experience The Ampersand Hotel’s Jurassic Afternoon Tea in South Kensington. It’s a wonderfully imaginative take on one of Britain’s best-loved traditions, with a family-friendly, prehistoric theme.
Unlike many central London restaurants that try to cater to all, hosting a menu with a myriad of items, Fenix in Mayfair has taken an altogether different approach. The new Greek Mediterranean restaurant has set the bar high as luxury meets warmth, with its Cyclades and Aegean dishes distinctively Greek in flavour, style and aesthetic.
116 at The Athenaeum is a perfect example of a family run (and family focused) restaurant done right. Set inside the opulent five star hotel, just opposite Green Park, you couldn’t ask for a better location. A plaque as you enter tells you that Jimi Hendrix stayed in this very place, reminding you that the Athenaeum takes its artist roots very seriously.
Our four-legged friends have never had it so good. From handsome interiors and beautifully crafted accessories to clever additions that make life with a dog that little bit easier, we’ve rounded up the latest luxury finds for the discerning hound. After all, there’s no reason a dog-friendly home can’t be every bit as stylish as the rest of the house.

There are few places where a story as old as The Odyssey feels quite so at home. In AlUla, Saudi Arabia’s ancient desert landscape, the tale of Odysseus has found a new stage - not on the page, but in the stars.
There is something quietly appealing about a restaurant that doesn’t feel the need to announce itself. Since opening on Mount Street this summer, Automat has been steadily finding its place in Mayfair - and now, with a reworked menu and the arrival of Autobar, it is entering a new chapter.
Summer may be slipping into its final scene, but there’s no need to dread the return to routine. From beautifully considered stationery and clever desk essentials to smart tech and inspiring reads, our back-to-school edit is designed to lighten the load and make the new term feel more exciting.
There are few places better suited to a reset than the Andalusian countryside, where ancient olive groves, Mediterranean woodland and wide-open skies set the pace. There are country escapes, and then there are places that make a weekend feel faintly like a secret. Rising above the treetops at Sandringham, the newly restored Water Tower is one such retreat: a remarkable Victorian landmark reimagined as an intimate hideaway for two.

There are few meals that feel quite as transporting as a traditional Onam Sadhya - a lavish South Indian harvest feast designed to be enjoyed slowly, communally and in abundance. This August, Mayfair’s Michelin-starred Jamavar is bringing its own interpretation to London, marking its tenth anniversary with a celebration that is as personal as it is gastronomic.
Elsewhere, a finely carved Roman marble Crouching Venus, dating from the late 1st to early 2nd century AD, reflects the artistic ideals of beauty and femininity that shaped classical sculpture. A sculptor’s model of a royal or divine Egyptian head, meanwhile, offers a glimpse into the ways representations of authority were developed and taught in the ancient world.
Kylie James, CEO of The London Art Exchange, explores the evolving world of art collecting, from the changing gallery landscape and digital innovation to making contemporary art more accessible for a new generation of collectors. There are few things more quintessentially London than oysters, champagne and a little friendly competition. This September, Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill will once again bring all three together as the London Oyster Championships return to Swallow Street on Friday 18 September 2026.
There are London views, and then there are London views that make you pause.
