NEW OPENING: MONCKS OF DOVER STREET ARRIVES IN MAYFAIR

This July, Mayfair is welcoming a brand new neighbourhood dining experience in the form of Moncks of Dover Street, brought to you by the team from Park Chinois. Moncks is an all-day brasserie with a menu that will showcase a combination of product-led, classic dishes alongside those which are influenced by the cosmopolitan tastes of the capital.

Interestingly, the inspiration behind the name comes from Christopher Moncks, who was a 16th Century Mayfair maverick who owned the sprawling estate of Clarendon House, which included Dover Street, Albemarle Street and Bond Street. What a guy! His sense of fun and adventure, and his unique character, is why his name has been honoured by this new brasserie.

Moncks will be open from 7:30am to midnight, every Monday to Friday and from 9am and 10am respectively at the weekend. The service and venue are to be relaxed, suitable for business breakfasts, power-lunches and evening cocktails. At Moncks, whether you are sipping a martini at the bar before dinner, or sampling one of the kitchen’s signature dishes in a cosy booth, the atmosphere promises to be buzzy and unpretentious.

Meet for breakfast and try the signature Truffled Benedict (artichoke and black truffle, organic poached eggs, hollandaise sauce on English muffin) or The Full Vegan, a fresh take on the traditional Full English with vegan “fried eggs”. If dining for lunch, you might enjoy the likes of Caesar salad with roasted, corn fed chicken or sole meunière with toasted almonds. In addition, diners can enjoy dinner-time delights like pan-fried monkfish with seafood jus, seasonal vegetables and gremolata or roasted baby leg of lamb with spiced couscous, sautéed shallots, apricots and pomegranates.

The kitchen at Moncks of Dover St is led by Executive Chef Gennaro Vitto and Head Chef, Valentino Pepe, who have been working alongside each other at Park Chinois since 2012. Both hailing from the South of Italy, these two chefs are incredibly passionate about every ingredient that they use and the way it’s presented on the plate. The restaurant has 92 covers and has been designed by boutique firm, Fettle, who have offices in London and LA and specialise in design for the hospitality sector.
